Kickstarter has suspended a crowdfunding campaign for the book "She Handled It," authored by Arwen Becker and featuring interviews with activists from the "Save Women's Sports" movement.[1][2]

The project page lists interviews with Riley Gaines, a former University of Kentucky and NCAA swimmer who tied for fifth place with transgender athlete Lia Thomas in the 200-yard freestyle at the 2022 NCAA Division I Championships;[3] Jennifer Sey, a former U.S. national team artistic gymnast and founder of XX-XY Athletics;[4] Paula Scanlan, a former University of Pennsylvania swimmer and teammate of Lia Thomas;[5] and others including Brooke Slusser, Payton McNabb, Stephanie Turner, Selina Soule, and Kaitlynn Wheeler.[1][2]

The Kickstarter page currently displays a "suspended" status.[2]

Becker told Fox News Digital that Kickstarter notified her of the suspension due to "strong evidence" of violating the platform's rules, specifically citing "hateful or offensive content that fails to meet Kickstarter's spirit of inclusivity by promoting discrimination, bigotry or intolerance toward marginalized groups."[1]

Becker has transferred the campaign to GiveSendGo, a platform known for hosting fundraisers removed from other sites, and stated that the suspension has generated additional attention for the project.[1][6]

"It's definitely helped. There's zero question about it," Becker said, adding that she did not pursue further contact with Kickstarter and immediately pivoted to the alternative platform.[1]
