Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby described a proposed trade to the Baltimore Ravens that collapsed due to concerns with his knee medical evaluation, leaving him with the Raiders for an eighth NFL season.[1][2]

Crosby, who underwent meniscus surgery and missed the final two games of the 2025 season, said the Ravens had committed to two first-round draft picks before backing out.[1] He detailed the events on his podcast "The Rush," calling it "one of the most unique, crazy, wild, up-and-down roller coasters I’ve ever been a part of."[1]

According to Crosby, after the initial trade agreement, he flew to Washington, D.C., and drove to Baltimore, where he waited five hours to meet general manager Eric DeCosta and head coach Jesse Minter.[1] During the meeting, doctors raised issues with his knee, citing future concerns.[1]

Crosby expressed frustration, posting on X: "Everything happens for a reason. Believe nothing you hear & half of what you see. I’m a Raider. I’m back. Run that s---."[1] The next morning, he worked out at the Raiders facility.[1]

The Ravens signed defensive end Trey Hendrickson, previously with the Cincinnati Bengals, to a four-year, $112 million contract with $60 million guaranteed following the collapse.[1]

In 15 games last season, Crosby recorded 73 tackles, 10 sacks and two forced fumbles.[1] It was his fifth Pro Bowl selection.[1]

Crosby, selected by the Raiders in the fourth round (No. 106 overall) of the 2019 NFL Draft out of Eastern Michigan, signed a four-year, $98.5 million contract extension in March 2022.[2][3]
