Bo Nix undergoes second ankle procedure: report
Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix underwent a second procedure on his surgically repaired ankle last week. The procedure followed his initial surgery for a fracture suffered during the team's divisional playoff win. Nix visited Dr. Norman Waldrop III in Birmingham, Alabama, according to the report.
Nix fractured the ankle in the Broncos' 33-30 overtime victory over the Buffalo Bills on Jan. 17, 2026, at Empower Field at Mile High. He had surgery two days later. Broncos coach Sean Payton, asked about Nix's progress after Day 3 of the NFL Draft on Saturday, described it as a scheduled recheck and said Nix is doing great with nothing further to report.
Last season, Nix completed 63.4% of his passes for 3,931 yards with 25 touchdowns and 11 interceptions, leading the NFL with seven game-winning drives. He added 356 rushing yards and five touchdowns. In 34 career starts, he holds a 24-10 record while entering his third season as Denver's starter.
The Broncos missed Nix in their 10-7 AFC championship loss to the New England Patriots, with backup Jarrett Stidham starting. They finished 14-3 and won the AFC West. Nix is expected to be ready for training camp, though his offseason program participation, starting Monday, could be limited.
