New Day's Kingston, Woods Depart WWE

Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods of the New Day left WWE on Saturday. The duo captured four WWE tag team titles together and eight overall including Big E. They held the tag team championship for a record 483 days as fan favorites before turning heel after winning at WrestleMania 41.

Woods' injury disrupted the storyline, leading Kingston to team with Grayson Waller without winning titles. WWE also parted ways with Tonga Loa and JC Mateo. Reactions poured in from wrestlers across promotions, positioning Kingston and Woods as top free agents.

In Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide, El Grande Americano and Original El Grande Americano build toward a mask-vs-mask match at Rey de Reyes on May 30. The rivals clashed at WWE's Royal Rumble on Jan. 31, 2026, where Original eliminated El Grande Americano. At a Saturday contract signing, El Grande Americano's girlfriend Andrea Bazarte received a suspension, and the Creed Brothers attacked El Grande Americano through a table in support of his opponent.

Darby Allin defeated Brody King for the AEW World Championship in one of the week's top matches. Allin, who won the title from MJF last month and beat Tommaso Ciampa the prior week, secured his second defense. Kevin Knight retained the TNT Championship against MJF and now challenges Allin for the world title on Wednesday after both agreed to the matchup.

NXT promoted Blake Monroe, Ethan Page, Fallon Henley, Je’Von Evans, Joe Hendry, Lainey Reid, Oba Femi, Ricky Saints, Sol Ruca and Trick Williams to the main roster since January. Will Ospreay trained with the Death Riders after Jon Moxley invited him to strike him with a chair. Ospreay teamed with Henare and Great-O-Khan at New Japan Pro-Wrestling's Dontaku to win the NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Championship from Bishamon. After Callum Newman retained the IWGP Heavyweight Championship, Ospreay attacked Shingo Takagi with a Hidden Blade on Newman's urging.
